This week we did something we haven't done before - fitted a quick-shifter to a dirt bike. Because, well - why not?
Our client Dan has a CRF 450 X which he has spent much time and attention getting set up for fun on the road with supermotard with metallic red and gold features. He wanted to add some typically road-bike-only customisations to make the bike unique as well as more efficient for his daily commute.
What we did:
Installed a quick-shifter specifically designed for off-road use
Installed a tail-tidy and repositioned the number plate
Repaired a faulty starter motor and repaired the charging system
Fitted a new start/kill switch, wired in a new multi switch block and repaired old wiring right through
Adjusted valve clearances, replaced badly worn exhaust cam follower and rechecked internals. We had fitted a new 490cc big bore kit and performance cam earlier this year, so the carburettor required a small re-jet to suit. She's now crisp and rides harder than before!
Wrapped the exhaust in Titanium toned fibreglass 1" wrap
